Often seniors have interest and desire to do something productive or meaningful in their day. However, the lack of structure and support comes in the way. In this group, we will explore interests that 65 and older adults wish to pursue in a supportive environment. Members will share small goals that they set for themselves and hold each other accountable to carry them out. The same group will meet virtually for 6 weeks. Of course, they can continue to meet among themselves afterward as well.

Group facilitator: Dr. Punit Mahendru, Ph.D.

Dr. Mahendru is a psychologist in practice for more than 25 years. She has taught as an adjunct professor at San Jose State University, Rutgers University-New Jersey, several private universities and colleges, and is a visiting faculty at HCI. She is currently a senior staff psychologist at Kaiser Permanente in Fremont and routinely works with seniors going through different phases of life issues. She believes that focusing on something meaningful and enjoyable is an important strategy to cope with aging concerns.
